About The Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to help design, develop, test, and maintain software that supports LaraBench’s products and business goals. In this role, you will work with colleagues across engineering, product, design, and other relevant functions to turn requirements into reliable, user-focused solutions. You will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from exploring a problem and evaluating possible approaches to delivering improvements and monitoring results. This position is suited to someone who combines sound technical judgment with a collaborative mindset and a willingness to keep learning. You should be comfortable balancing independent work with regular communication, adapting as priorities change, and explaining technical considerations to colleagues with different levels of technical experience.

Qualifications

Candidates should have professional experience in software development or a comparable record of building and maintaining software. A relevant degree, technical training, or equivalent practical experience is welcome. You should be familiar with at least one modern programming language and have experience working with common development practices such as version control, code review, testing, and debugging. The ability to understand existing systems, write readable and maintainable code, and consider performance, security, accessibility, and reliability is important.

We also value strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly in writing and conversation. You should be able to organize your work, ask questions when requirements are unclear, and respond constructively to feedback. Experience collaborating on cross-functional teams and a genuine interest in improving products over time are beneficial. Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, and maintain software features in alignment with product requirements and engineering standards. Collaborate with teammates to clarify user needs, assess technical options, estimate work, and identify dependencies or risks. Participate in code reviews, share constructive feedback, and help maintain a codebase that is understandable and supportable. Investigate defects and performance issues, determine their causes, and deliver appropriate fixes. Write and update technical documentation so that systems, decisions, and processes are easier for others to understand.

Work with relevant partners to release changes responsibly, validate outcomes, and incorporate feedback. Contribute to improvements in development workflows, testing practices, and system reliability. Communicate progress and raise blockers early, while managing assigned work with care and accountability. Follow applicable privacy, security, and data-handling practices, and remain open to learning new tools and approaches that support the team’s objectives.
