About The Role

Software Technology Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to help design, build, test, and maintain software applications. In this role, you will work with engineers, product managers, designers, and other partners to turn requirements into dependable solutions. You will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from clarifying needs and evaluating technical approaches to releasing features and improving them based on feedback. The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and attentive to both code quality and the people who use the products.

You will be expected to communicate progress, raise concerns early, and approach changing priorities with professionalism. Qualifications

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Candidates should have experience developing software in one or more programming languages and a working understanding of common software development practices, including version control, code review, testing, and debugging. Familiarity with databases, APIs, and modern development tools is beneficial.

Successful candidates communicate clearly, collaborate respectfully, and can explain technical concepts to colleagues with different backgrounds. You should be comfortable breaking larger problems into manageable tasks, considering trade-offs, and seeking guidance when needed. We value sound judgment, attention to detail, accountability, and an interest in learning new tools and technologies. Experience working in an Agile or similarly iterative development environment is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software features that support product and business objectives. Collaborate with product and design partners to clarify requirements, assess technical options, and deliver solutions that are useful, accessible, and reliable. Write readable, maintainable code and participate in peer reviews to support shared quality standards.

Identify and resolve defects, investigate performance or reliability issues, and document technical decisions where appropriate. Contribute to automated testing and follow established security, privacy, and development practices. Help improve existing applications by identifying opportunities to simplify, strengthen, or update systems. Communicate project status, dependencies, and risks to teammates, and participate in planning, team discussions, and retrospectives. Continue building your technical knowledge and share relevant learning with the team.
