Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Spanish/English Medical Interpreter. The interpreter will facilitate clear, accurate, and confidential communication between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare professionals via phone or other virtual platforms. Day-to-day tasks include performing consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during medical consultations, translating patient concerns and provider instructions, and ensuring that medical terminology and treatment information are conveyed correctly. The role involves documenting interpreted interactions as required, following relevant protocols and privacy regulations, and maintaining professionalism and cultural sensitivity in all communications. The interpreter will collaborate with supervisors and healthcare partners to support high-quality patient experiences and effective clinical decision-making.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Interpreting for Spanish and English in clinical or healthcare settings.

• Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to patient care, diagnostics, treatments, and healthcare procedures.

• Candidates should possess proven abilities in Simultaneous Interpretation for real-time medical conversations requiring rapid, accurate communication.

• Candidates should possess proficiency in Translation for medical documents, instructions, and patient education materials in both Spanish and English.

• Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English, with excellent listening and communication skills.

• Prior experience as a medical interpreter or in a healthcare environment is highly beneficial.

• Familiarity with patient confidentiality standards (such as HIPAA or similar regulations) and ethical interpreting practices.

• Strong attention to detail, emotional resilience, and the ability to remain calm in sensitive or urgent medical situations.

• Reliable high-speed internet, suitable remote work setup, and comfort using virtual communication and call center tools.
