About The Role

Aretum is seeking a skilled and motivated Frontend Vue.js Developer to help integrate a custom application with client systems and build solutions within a microservices architecture. In this role, you will contribute primarily to frontend development and may support backend code and integrations. You will work closely with a collaborative Agile team and directly with the Project Manager to respond to emerging client needs. This is a remote position, with occasional travel expected to be less than 10% for project requirements, client meetings, team events, or training. Travel will be communicated in advance whenever possible.

This is a contingent position. Employment depends on Aretum’s successful award of the associated contract and completion of any required background investigation or security clearance verification. The position supports a federal government contract and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination, as applicable. Employees may handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must follow all relevant safeguarding and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Applicants should have at least five years of custom web application development experience, including three or more years working with Vue.js and five or more years of full-stack development experience. You should understand how user interface frameworks interact with backend architecture and have experience with JavaScript, CSS, and developing or consuming APIs, including FastAPI and/or RESTful web services.

A bachelor’s degree is required, or applicants may qualify with two additional years of relevant experience. A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates should understand Scrum, Kanban, and Agile development practices; have experience with continuous integration; and be familiar with website mobile-friendliness and Section 508 accessibility standards. Strong analytical, interpersonal, issue-resolution, collaboration, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and as part of a team.

Preferred qualifications include federal government experience, Python backend coding, and familiarity with Vite, Quasar, or Pinia. Experience with Jira and Confluence, as well as Scrum or SAFe teams using two- to three-week sprint cycles, is also desirable.

Responsibilities

Build and update custom web applications within a microservices architecture, including frontend features and, where appropriate, backend code. Integrate applications with client-based systems and develop or consume APIs and web services. Apply accessibility standards, including Section 508 considerations, and support mobile-friendly user experiences. Collaborate across functions in an Agile environment, contribute to continuous integration, and help resolve issues involving open-source products. Balance competing priorities, communicate clearly with teammates and stakeholders, and work directly with the Project Manager to support changing client requirements.
