About The Role

As a PHP/JavaScript Developer, you will work across the front end and back end to deliver complete web solutions. You will create new application code, review and improve existing software, and support the integrations and services that help web applications function effectively. Your work may include user interfaces, middleware, APIs, and database interactions, including work with MySQL. In partnership with team members and the customer, you will help clarify requirements, resolve technical challenges, and identify opportunities to streamline workflows through automation and optimization. The ideal candidate brings strong PHP and JavaScript experience, sound development fundamentals, and the ability to contribute across the application lifecycle.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include at least five years of experience developing websites or web applications and at least five years of experience with PHP and JavaScript. Candidates should have experience writing source code for new applications or reviewing, maintaining, and enhancing existing applications and software. A working understanding of database systems, including MySQL, is required, along with the ability to work across front-end and back-end components such as user interfaces, middleware, services, and APIs.

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred as a baseline qualification. Candidates with at least eight years of relevant web development or software engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred experience includes working with content management systems such as Joomla, including plug-ins and extensions; building or enhancing web applications and APIs; and using AWS. Familiarity with Jira or Confluence is beneficial. Candidates with knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and accessibility, as well as experience gathering client requirements and working collaboratively to solve complex problems, are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain websites and web applications that support customer infrastructure and operational needs. Write code for new applications and assess existing code to identify opportunities for improvement, maintenance, or extension. Contribute to front-end and back-end development, including user interfaces, middleware, application services, APIs, and supporting integrations. Work with MySQL and other database systems to support application functionality and data needs. Collaborate with team members to analyze technical challenges and develop effective solutions. Engage with the customer to gather and clarify requirements, understand workflow challenges, and recommend opportunities for automation and optimization. Help deliver reliable, maintainable solutions that align with project objectives and user needs.
