About The Role

JLOOP is looking for a Software Engineer to help design, develop, test, and maintain reliable software solutions. In this role, you will work with colleagues to understand project goals, translate requirements into effective technical approaches, and deliver maintainable features. You will contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from planning and implementation to testing, release, and ongoing improvement.

The successful candidate is curious, organized, and comfortable working through technical challenges. Qualifications

Candidates should have professional experience in software development or an equivalent combination of education, training, and practical project work. A working understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, application architecture, and common software development practices is expected. Experience with one or more modern programming languages and development frameworks is beneficial, as is familiarity with version control, code review, and automated testing.

You should be able to investigate issues, break complex requirements into manageable tasks, and produce clear, maintainable code. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, along with the ability to work independently and contribute constructively within a team. Familiarity with databases, APIs, cloud services, or agile delivery methods is an advantage. A willingness to learn new tools and technologies is essential.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and maintain software components in line with project requirements and established engineering practices. Collaborate with product, design, quality assurance, and other technical colleagues to clarify needs, estimate work, and deliver features. Participate in planning sessions, technical discussions, code reviews, and retrospectives, sharing useful feedback and documenting relevant decisions.

Identify and resolve defects, performance concerns, and other technical issues. Develop and maintain unit, integration, or other automated tests to support software quality. Review existing systems and recommend practical improvements to reliability, usability, security, and maintainability. Keep project documentation current, communicate progress and risks promptly, and manage assigned work with care. Follow applicable security and privacy practices, and support releases and post-deployment improvements as needed.
