We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Jewellery Specialist with a minimum of 3 years of jewellery modelling experience. You will create accurate, production-ready 3D CAD models from customer requirements, sketches and references. Your designs must reflect our brand image and the client’s expectations, and they must cast, set and finish correctly the first time. You will work closely with the team leader, designers, bench jewellers and production, from brief to approved prototype.
Key Responsibilities
• Create 3D CAD jewellery models (rings, bridal and engagement pieces, bands, pendants, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and custom pieces) based on customer requirements, design briefs, sketches, photos and stone specifications.
• Deliver all requests on time, reflecting the company’s brand image and the client’s requests.
• Work with team members to achieve daily, weekly and monthly targets.
• Take part in the development and elaboration of the design collection.
• Carry out all tasks assigned by the team leader or manager diligently, on schedule and to the highest standard.
• Engineer every model for manufacturing: wall and metal thickness, stone seats, prongs, clearances, shrinkage and finishing allowances, all within our casting partners’ tolerances.
• Design accurate stone layouts (prong, bezel, channel, pavé, micro-pavé), with attention to stone placement, proportions, dimensions and metal weight.
• Model functional components such as hinges, clasps and multi-part assemblies where required.
• Review and revise CAD models based on feedback from clients, managers and production teams.
• Create size variants, alternate stone configurations and photorealistic renders for client approval, when required.
• Flag design, feasibility and quality risks early, and keep a version-controlled CAD library.
Requirements
• Minimum 3+ years of professional jewellery 3D CAD modelling experience, including pieces that have been manufactured.
• Fluent proficiency in Rhinoceros (Rhino), Matrix and MatrixGold.
• Experience with organic modelling or sculpting software (Blender, ZBrush or equivalent).
• Extensive knowledge of gemology, precious metals and jewellery manufacturing techniques (lost-wax casting, 3D printing, stone setting, finishing).
• Intermediate knowledge of jeweller’s tools, machinery and equipment.
• Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Team player with a strong sense of responsibility and work ethic, who goes the extra mile to get the job done.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Open mind and a strong ability to continuously receive and apply constructive feedback.
