About The Role

PrizePicks’ Creative Collective is seeking a Lead 3D Designer to spearhead our 3D design discipline. The Creative Collective is a small, high-conviction team that operates with a “commit fully or not at all” mindset. We move quickly, engage in constructive debate, and stand firmly behind our decisions. As Lead 3D Designer, you will collaborate closely with Art Directors and Product teams to create a distinctive 3D visual language that enhances the fan experience within our product and marketing initiatives.

This role requires an elite 3D craftsperson who can build compelling characters, environments, and objects that embody the PrizePicks brand. You will determine when to hand-build assets and when to leverage AI tools to accelerate production without sacrificing creative intent. You will also define how 3D projects are briefed, reviewed, and delivered across the organization, leading through craft and mentorship rather than authority.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional 3D design experience with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in character, environment, and object design

• Proficient in Blender or equivalent 3D software such as Cinema 4D or Maya

• Experience with rendering engines like Octane or Redshift

• Comfortable integrating AI tools into creative workflows

• Strong cultural fluency in sports, streetwear, or hip-hop reflected in your work

• Bonus: Experience with real-time engines (Unreal, Unity) or procedural tools (Houdini)

• Bonus: Experience managing, mentoring, or leading other 3D or design professionals

• Bonus: Background in motion graphics or animation alongside 3D

• Die-hard sports fan with a keen understanding of current culture

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of immersive 3D worlds, characters, environments, and objects that align with PrizePicks’ brand and campaigns

• Translate 2D concepts and mood boards into fully realized 3D executions

• Maintain high standards for render quality, including lighting, materials, and composition from initial pass through final delivery

• Innovate by integrating AI image generation workflows (e.g., Weavy) to accelerate ideation and production

• Experiment with real-time rendering and emerging tools to reduce turnaround times and enhance creative output

• Establish and maintain clean, reusable asset libraries, rigs, and templates to streamline production

• Own the briefing, review, and delivery processes for 3D work, ensuring alignment with broader creative goals

• Collaborate closely with Art Directors to ensure 3D elements are integral to the overall creative vision

• Balance multiple projects simultaneously across brand, social, and campaign timelines without compromising quality

• Lead the 3D team by example, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
