BI Engineer — Chicago, IL

We're hiring on behalf of an organisation looking to expand and rebuild its data warehouse and analytics ecosystem from the ground up.

The Role

• Design, build, and maintain high-performing BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models that translate complex business requirements into intuitive visualisations.

• Partner with Data Engineering and QA to shape data pipelines, tune SQL queries, and ensure clean, reliable data delivery.

• Serve as the primary analytics partner for business stakeholders, answering reporting questions, defining metrics, and driving data literacy.

• Maintain reporting platform reliability, automate manual workflows, and uphold data governance and documentation standards.

• Mentor team members, participate in code reviews, and explore opportunities to enhance analytics using modern techniques.

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, data science, or a related field.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong expertise in data and semantic modeling alongside BI platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.

• Advanced SQL proficiency, solid Python skills, and experience with ETL pipelines and version control.
