About The Role

As a Software Engineer at LaraBench, you will help design, develop, test, and maintain software that supports our products and business goals. You will work with colleagues across engineering, product, design, and other functions to turn requirements into dependable, user-friendly solutions. The role is suited to an engineer who enjoys both independent problem-solving and collaborative development, and who takes care to consider performance, maintainability, accessibility, and security throughout the software lifecycle. You will contribute to technical discussions, communicate progress and risks clearly, and help the team deliver improvements in a steady, sustainable way. The specific tools and projects may evolve as our needs change, so adaptability and a willingness to learn are important.

Qualifications

Candidates should have professional experience, internship experience, or a strong portfolio demonstrating software development skills. You should be comfortable working with at least one modern programming language and have a solid understanding of core concepts such as data structures, algorithms, version control, debugging, and software testing. Experience developing web applications, APIs, services, or other production software is valuable. You should be able to read existing code, identify issues, and make improvements while considering the needs of users and the wider system.

We also value clear written and verbal communication, good judgment, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate can explain technical decisions in an accessible way, receive feedback constructively, and manage priorities with care. Familiarity with iterative development practices, code review, automated testing, cloud platforms, or contemporary development workflows is an advantage. A degree in computer science or a related field may be helpful, but equivalent practical experience and demonstrated ability are welcome. Responsibilities

You will develop, test, review, and maintain software features in line with product requirements and engineering standards. You will collaborate with teammates to clarify needs, assess technical options, estimate work, and deliver solutions that are reliable and maintainable. You will write readable code, contribute to documentation, and participate in code reviews and technical planning. You will investigate defects, troubleshoot system behavior, and help identify opportunities to improve performance, usability, and operational stability.

You will also communicate progress, surface blockers early, and coordinate effectively with partners outside the engineering team. As you become familiar with LaraBench’s products and practices, you will contribute ideas for improving development processes and product quality. You will follow appropriate security and privacy practices, consider accessibility in implementation, and support the team in learning from feedback and delivery outcomes.
