About The Role

CMT Services Inc. is seeking a Marketing Cloud Developer to support the continued growth and effective use of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) solution at the University of Maryland Global Campus. In partnership with the CRM team and product owner, you will gather business requirements, design and develop campaign solutions, and help guide the ongoing direction of the Marketing Cloud instance. The role focuses on building and optimizing email communications using Content Builder, HTML, CSS, and AMPscript, along with supporting data integrations, customer journeys, and campaign reporting.

This is a one-year position based at the University of Maryland Global Campus, 3501 University Blvd. East, Adelphi, MD 20783. The schedule is 40 hours per week, with no overtime.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience is required. Candidates should have at least three years of Salesforce Marketing Cloud or ExactTarget experience; five years is preferred. A Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant or Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist credential is expected.

Qualified candidates bring hands-on experience with Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder, Contact Builder, Data Extensions, triggered sends, and automated or drip campaigns. Experience creating responsive email templates and dynamic content with HTML and AMPscript is important. Candidates should also have experience with audience segmentation, large datasets, email quality assurance, deliverability, campaign optimization, A/B or multivariate testing, and reporting. Familiarity with Litmus, Return Path, Google Analytics, SQL, APIs, and Salesforce data integrations is valuable. Experience with landing pages, microsites, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS, and Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage.

Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent written and verbal communication, sound organization and multitasking skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Candidates should understand email marketing best practices, inbox deliverability, CRM concepts, and CAN-SPAM requirements, and be comfortable working within changing priorities, schedules, and budgets.

Responsibilities

Partner with the product owner and CRM team to translate business requirements into effective campaign solutions. Design, build, test, and deploy emails, customer journeys, nurture programs, forms, and landing pages using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Prepare and import audience lists, segment prospect and customer data, and recommend appropriate targeting strategies.

Configure campaign tracking and provide reporting and dashboards that measure marketing effectiveness. Interpret performance metrics and recommend improvements to campaigns, customer journeys, and communication practices. Conduct timely quality assurance for emails, campaigns, pages, and data, including checks across devices and email applications.

Support data hygiene, system maintenance, end-user requests, troubleshooting, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud integrations. Work with MuleSoft integrations involving D2L, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, and AWS Redshift. Document solution and architecture decisions, contribute to monthly feature releases, and help maintain scalable, repeatable marketing automation processes.
