The role owns native mobile development across iOS and Android for a product used by hundreds of thousands of people daily - building features end-to-end from design handoff through release on the App Store and Play Store.
You will work directly with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to ship fast, reliable, polished mobile experiences, with ownership of performance, release cadence, and platform-specific quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and ship features natively in Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, owning implementation from spec to production release
• Design and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs, handling offline caching, sync conflicts, and error states gracefully
• Own app performance: cold start times, memory profiling, rendering performance, and crash-free rate targets using tools like Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, and Xcode Instruments
• Drive CI/CD for mobile: automated builds, test suites, staged rollouts, and release management via Bitrise, Fastlane, or GitHub Actions
• Instrument feature usage and analytics to inform product decisions, partnering with product and data teams on experimentation
• Conduct rigorous code reviews, contribute to shared component libraries, and uphold platform conventions and accessibility standards
• Mentor mid-level engineers and contribute to mobile architecture decisions across both platforms
What We Are Looking For
• 3–6 years of mobile engineering experience shipping consumer or B2B apps to the App Store and/or Play Store
• Deep proficiency in at least one platform (Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) and working knowledge of the other
• Solid grasp of mobile architecture patterns: MVVM, MVI, modularization, dependency injection, and reactive programming (Combine, Coroutines/Flow)
• Experience consuming REST/GraphQL APIs and implementing secure auth, local persistence (Core Data, Room, SQLite), and background work
• Track record of owning releases: app store submission processes, phased rollouts, feature flags, and hotfix workflows
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Bonus: experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or React Native/Expo, mobile telemetry/observability (Datadog RUM), or building apps with heavy offline-first requirements
