Long Finch Technologies is seeking an experienced Android developer for a 12-month assignment. This opportunity is suited to a hands-on mobile engineering professional who can contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of Android applications. About The Role

As an Android Developer, you will design, build, test, and maintain applications for the Android platform. You will use Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, and related technologies to deliver features that meet product requirements and provide a consistent experience across supported devices. You will contribute to technical discussions, help identify appropriate implementation approaches, and work through development challenges with a focus on quality, maintainability, and performance.

This position is intended for a developer with more than eight years of relevant professional experience. You should be comfortable taking ownership of mobile development tasks, communicating progress and technical considerations, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The assignment duration is 12 months. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders; other visa statuses are not eligible for this opportunity.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include more than eight years of relevant Android application development experience and strong hands-on skills in Android, Kotlin, and Java. Candidates should have experience building and maintaining production-quality Android applications, with an understanding of Android platform capabilities, application architecture, and common development practices. Practical experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development technologies is expected.

The successful candidate can translate functional and technical requirements into maintainable implementations, investigate issues, and contribute to code reviews and quality improvements. Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills are important, as is the ability to work effectively with engineers and stakeholders. Applicants must be authorized under the stated eligibility requirement: U.S. citizenship or Green Card status.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain Android application features using Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, and relevant platform tools. Participate in technical planning and help shape implementation choices that support scalability, usability, performance, and maintainability. Write clear, well-structured code and apply established engineering practices throughout development.

Collaborate with product, design, quality assurance, and engineering colleagues to understand requirements and deliver features aligned with user and business needs. Test and debug application behavior, diagnose defects, and implement appropriate fixes. Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and continuous improvement of development processes. Consider compatibility across devices and Android versions, and help ensure that applications behave reliably in supported environments. Communicate progress, raise risks or dependencies, and take responsibility for assigned work through completion.
