About The Role

We are seeking a talented Web and Digital Interface Designer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying user-centered digital interfaces that enhance user experience and support mission-critical operations. You will collaborate closely with web developers, management, users, and other stakeholders to create responsive, accessible, and privacy-conscious designs that align with project goals and style guidelines. Your expertise will be critical in conducting user research, developing prototypes, and ensuring the usability and functionality of web interfaces across multiple devices and browsers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Web Design, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.

• Three (3) or more years of directly related technical experience.

• Experience documenting technical requirements, configurations, tests, changes, and results.

• Portfolio demonstrating relevant interface or web-design work may be required.

• Experience in government, regulated, or security-conscious environments preferred.

• Degrees and certifications in computer science, data science, or related fields are preferred but not mandatory.

• Equivalent combinations of related education, training, and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research and analyze stakeholder and user feedback to define requirements and identify usability issues.

• Develop visual concepts, storyboards, site maps, page templates, prototypes, and interaction diagrams.

• Design responsive, accessible, and privacy-conscious interfaces aligned with project goals and user needs.

• Collaborate with web developers, management, users, hosting providers, and network personnel to prioritize needs and resolve user experience issues.

• Create and maintain detailed design specifications and documentation covering product features, interface behavior, technical constraints, and test results.

• Plan, conduct, and document usability and cross-browser/device testing, addressing issues or escalating as appropriate.

• Support website creation and updates, including adherence to code and content-style guidelines.

• Consider accessibility, privacy, performance, budget, and legal requirements in design decisions.

• Recommend design tools and technologies to improve workflow and product quality.
