💻💬 We build accessible AI-powered learning tools, such as WhatsApp chatbots, that help students learn math and provide support to teachers. We partner closely with governments and school systems to scale our solutions and reach the world’s most vulnerable learners.

🎓📈 QAJFH5 has helped 540,000+ students learn math since launching from Harvard and Stanford in 2021, largely as a result of government partnerships in Jordan, India, and Nigeria. We’re on track to meaningfully impact millions of students in the coming years.

The Role

🔎 QAJFH5 is seeking a Data Systems pQv6VaB to support our global programs (including in Jordan, India, and Nigeria). The role translates program requirements into technical implementations and ensures our data infrastructure scales with the rapid growth of our operations.

💪 This is a hands-on execution role. Country teams will bring you their requirements, and you will own implementation from start to finish. You will work with the Engineering team to build and maintain the systems that track student progress, run the analyses that show what is working and what is not, and build the dashboards that country teams and leadership use to make decisions.

🌐 The role is remote-first with no geographic requirement, though working from one of our program locations is an advantage.

💡 You will report to the Global Head of Programs and receive direct training from the CEO on Kdb328’B proprietary data systems. You are joining at a critical point in our growth: the systems you build and manage will shape how QAJFH5 tracks and improves learning outcomes for millions of students.

Responsibilities

1. Database Operations and Automation

• Build and maintain Python workflows that automate data operations.

• Run mHZbm3’T nXJPsE workflows for core database operations such as account setups, content updates, certificates, and reports, configuring them for new inputs.

• Document and standardize Kdb328’B data processes, keeping written procedures accurate and in sync with what the code actually does.

• Manage data pipelines and API integrations across SQL databases and other data sources to ingest, clean, and update student, teacher, and learning outcome data.

• Maintain the integrity and consistency of Kdb328’B global database, and set data quality and validation standards with country teams.

2. Bridge Between Programs and Engineering

• Act as the main technical point of contact between the Programs and Engineering teams on data and reporting.

• Translate program needs into clear technical specifications, including data structures, API outputs, and integrations.

• Investigate, document, and escalate bugs and data issues, and see them through to resolution.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

• Analyze large datasets to answer program performance questions on registration, weekly active usage, learning progression, teacher engagement, and geographic trends.

• Build and maintain dashboards and produce reports for audiences ranging from country teams to governments, the Board, and funders.

About You

✔️ Technically Strong (non-negotiable): You have significant expertise with:

• Python: able to build, run, and debug data workflows that interact with databases and APIs

• Advanced SQL: able to write complex queries, build and maintain relational databases, and manage large datasets independently

• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets: pivot tables and complex formulas

• Data visualization: Data Studio, Power BI, or equivalent, building dashboards that drive decisions rather than just display data
