About The Role

We are seeking a motivated Full-Stack PHP Developer with 1-2 years of experience to join our dynamic and growing Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven problem solver and an excellent coder, capable of developing and optimizing web applications using PHP frameworks like Laravel. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and support new features while maintaining high code quality and performance standards. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects in a remote, flexible work setting, contributing directly to the evolution of Muvi’s streaming platform.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of programming experience in web application development

• Proficiency with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter

• Strong front-end development skills including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, JSON, and XML

• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles

• Experience working with PHP-based CMS platforms like WordPress

• Strong knowledge of database modeling and design, with a good understanding of MySQL

• Experience in API design and RESTful web services

• Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a plus

• Self-directed work ethic, attention to detail, and effective communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design and develop web applications using PHP frameworks, primarily Laravel

• Implement new features and analyze system performance and user feedback to drive improvements

• Optimize existing functionalities to enhance response times and overall performance

• Collaborate with team members to design, develop, unit test, and support new features

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to best practices

• Perform performance tuning, testing, refactoring, usability enhancements, and automation

• Create rapid proof-of-concept implementations and present them to internal stakeholders

• Stay updated with new tools, libraries, and best practices and share insights for continuous process improvement

• Support, maintain, and document existing software functionalities

• Work collaboratively with other departments, stakeholders, and customers on software development and implementation issues
