Communications Specialist | Charlotte, NC | Full-time | Monday–Friday | 9:00am–5:30pm | Office-based | Permanent position

Strong communications depend on clarity, messaging strategy, and consistent outreach working together.

This role is suited to someone who can see the bigger brand picture while keeping track of editorial details. You'll work across different functions, monitor campaign performance, resolve communication challenges, and identify practical ways to improve how stories get told.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily communications activities and coordinate messaging priorities across teams

• Establish and maintain press guidelines that support consistent brand messaging

• Monitor media engagement, review coverage recaps, and track key public relations metrics

• Identify narrative gaps and recommend improvements to existing press distribution channels

• Coordinate press releases, media kits, and release schedules to support campaign objectives

• Work with department leads to address PR inquiries and remove messaging bottlenecks

• Maintain accurate media lists, editorial trackers, and press performance documentation

• Review campaign progress against deadlines, coverage targets, and agreed communications objectives

• Support the planning and execution of strategic PR rollouts

• Communicate messaging updates and brand standards to relevant team members

• Help ensure editorial standards and corporate governance requirements are followed

• Prepare communications updates and campaign recommendations for leadership review

You'll need:

• Strong organizational, writing, and editorial problem-solving skills

• Clear written and verbal communication

• The ability to coordinate multiple press releases and competing publishing deadlines

• Confidence reviewing media reports, identifying coverage trends, and tracking PR performance

• Good judgment when resolving day-to-day public relations or messaging issues

• The ability to collaborate across departments and support brand alignment

• Proficiency with standard office software, media databases, and content platforms

• A practical approach to strategy refinement and story pitch development
