About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Designer to join our product design team and contribute to the expansion of features on our Android and iOS applications. This fully remote role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented designer passionate about making financial services more accessible and inclusive. You will collaborate closely with product managers, user researchers, engineers, and data analysts from concept through delivery. Your work will involve creating high-quality designs, prototypes, and user research plans that directly impact millions of users. The position requires occasional travel to key market locations for immersion and team collaboration. We offer competitive salaries up to $187,000 USD (location-dependent), equity packages, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of end-to-end in-house experience in mobile product design focused on consumer applications.

• Proficiency in low and high-fidelity design and prototyping, including experience with large language models (LLMs) on Android mobile apps.

• Excellent visual and interaction design skills with strong attention to detail and ability to remove friction from user flows.

• Strong illustration and animation capabilities, with experience using tools such as After Effects and Lottie or compatible formats.

• Fluency in English; French language skills are a plus but not mandatory.

• Ability to produce polished, high-quality designs efficiently and iterate rapidly based on user feedback.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.

• Strong critical thinking skills to analyze complex interaction designs and balance tradeoffs between business goals, customer needs, and technical feasibility.

• Curiosity and passion for understanding customer behaviors and needs through user research.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and anticipate edge cases within a design system.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product managers, user researchers, engineers, and data analysts throughout the feature development lifecycle.

• Create high-quality designs, interactions, and prototypes to explore and validate product ideas.

• Develop user research plans and partner with researchers to identify problems and validate solutions through user testing.

• Contribute to the growth and maintenance of Wave’s design system and component library.

• Engage directly with customers to understand their problems and design user-centered solutions.

• Communicate design decisions clearly in review sessions and discussions with stakeholders.

• Prototype visual and UX concepts and iterate rapidly toward optimal solutions.

• Travel to market countries twice a year for immersion trips and team collaboration, with additional travel encouraged.
