The roleTake ownership of features from technical design through implementation, testing, release, and production support. Work with product, design, and engineering teammates to deliver reliable user experiences while keeping changes understandable, reviewable, and auditable. Practical familiarity with SOC 2-aligned engineering workflows is a plus. Experience with video games and analytics are a big plus.
Technology environment• Mobile: React Native, Expo, Expo Router, TypeScript, and EAS builds and updates.
• Web and administration: Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Backend and data: Node.js/TypeScript, Firebase Cloud Functions, Firestore, Realtime Database. Golang
• IaC: Terraform
• CI/CD: Github Actions and Expo Pipelines
• Clouds: AWS and GCP
The core hiring emphasis is TypeScript, React Native, and Firebase-backed product development. Expertise in every tool is not expected; Go and broader cloud-infrastructure experience are useful additions.
What you will do• Deliver complete features: Build and maintain mobile experiences, administrative tools, and backend functionality for onboarding, picks, contests, notifications, and performance tracking.
• Build reliable services: Implement APIs, scheduled jobs, event-driven workflows, and third-party integrations with appropriate validation, authorization, retries, idempotency, and data-consistency safeguards.
• Keep architecture maintainable: Separate business logic from vendor integrations, use testable interfaces, and document API and schema changes alongside implementation.
• Own quality: Write meaningful unit and integration tests, test authorization failures and edge cases, and help expand end-to-end coverage of critical journeys on both iOS and Android.
• Release safely: Contribute to CI/CD, verify environment-specific configuration, distinguish native mobile builds from over-the-air updates, and plan compatible migrations and rollbacks.
• Operate what you ship: Diagnose failures, improve monitoring, and produce structured logs with useful operation and resource identifiers without exposing emails, phone numbers, tokens, or other sensitive values, consistent with our logging guidelines.
What you bring• Production ownership: Experience independently delivering and supporting production software, with sound judgment about correctness, maintainability, and release risk.
• TypeScript and React Native: Strong TypeScript and React fundamentals, hands-on React Native experience, and familiarity with shipping and debugging applications on iOS and Android.
• Backend and data skills: Practical Node.js and Firebase/GCP experience, including serverless functions, Firestore data modeling, security rules, and authenticated API integration.
• Testing and delivery discipline: Experience with automated tests, GitHub pull requests, CI/CD, environment separation, and troubleshooting issues across client and server boundaries.
• Security and SOC 2 fluency: An understanding of authentication versus authorization, sensitive-data handling, least privilege, and auditable change management. You can explain how an approved change moves into production and what evidence supports that process.
• Clear communication and accountable AI use: Communicate decisions and risks clearly, collaborate asynchronously, and use approved AI coding tools without delegating responsibility for correctness, testing, security, or human review.
Useful additional experience• Adjacent technologies: Go services, AWS, Terraform, or integrating clients with independently deployed backend APIs.
• Mobile integrations: Clerk, RevenueCat, in-app purchases, push notifications, analytics, or real-time data.
• Reliability-sensitive domains: Market data, trading calendars, contest scoring, virtual balances, or other workflows where duplicate processing and inconsistent state matter.
