About the Role

The company is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain backend infrastructure supporting its technology services. This hands-on role focuses on TypeScript, Node.js, production reliability, scalability, and system design. You will own critical backend components, contribute to architectural decisions, and work directly with experienced founders and an engineering-focused team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code using TypeScript and Node.js.

• Develop data pipelines, integrate APIs, and design systems to support technology services.

• Maintain production reliability, scalability, and observability across backend systems.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and bugs, and develop effective solutions.

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure systems meet business needs and align with the technology strategy.

• Contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from concept and design to deployment and ongoing maintenance.

• Provide technical leadership and apply engineering best practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide critical programs.

• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, applying relevant developments to systems and processes.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer or in a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js.

• Demonstrable experience with production reliability, scalability, observability, data pipelines, API integration, and system design.

• Proficiency with AWS and PostgreSQL.

• Strong understanding of version control tools such as Git.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges.

• Proven ability to design, develop, and implement large-scale systems.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in the Tech Services industry is a plus.

Salary & Benefits

• Annual salary: $185,000–$225,000.
