Like solving real technology problems across different client environments? You may be a great fit for STAC.
STAC is a Reno-based managed technology and cybersecurity company helping small and midsized businesses build secure, reliable technology environments. Our work ranges from reliable endpoint operations to broader workplace security and compliance readiness. We are looking for a System Administrator who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and communicates well with both technical and nontechnical people.
You do not need to check every box. If you have a strong technical foundation, enjoy helping people, and are ready to keep learning, we encourage you to apply.
What you will do
• Support client technology environments onsite and remotely
• Troubleshoot desktops, servers, networks, applications, and Microsoft 365
• Administer Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and Entra ID
• Configure and support Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Help plan and deliver technology projects from preparation through deployment
• Support firewalls, VPNs, LANs, wireless networks, backups, and security controls
• Help standardize client environments through patching, device management, identity controls, application control, and security monitoring
• Contribute to compliance-readiness work by maintaining accurate inventories, diagrams, evidence, and technical documentation
• Document your work clearly and communicate directly with clients
• Collaborate with the STAC team to improve client environments and internal processes
What we are looking for
• Professional experience supporting business technology environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to follow issues through to resolution
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration
• A practical understanding of business networking and firewall fundamentals
• Clear communication, good judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities
• A client-focused mindset and willingness to ask questions when needed
Helpful, but not required
• PowerShell or other scripting experience
• Microsoft Intune and Entra ID experience
• Hyper-V or VMware experience
• Familiarity with CIS, NIST, CMMC, HIPAA, ISO, or other security and compliance frameworks
• MSP experience or experience supporting multiple organizations
• Linux or macOS experience
What STAC offers
Compensation: $75,000-$100,000 based on experience
Bonus: Monthly bonus opportunities
Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
Time and retirement: Paid time off and a 401(k) match
Growth: Education and wellness budget
Additional support: Vehicle allowance, stocked kitchen, Reno Aces tickets, and other team perks
Who will enjoy this role
This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys variety, takes responsibility for outcomes, and likes helping businesses solve practical technology problems. You should be comfortable balancing responsive support with the disciplined work required to standardize, secure, document, and continuously improve client environments. MSP work moves quickly, so comfort with changing priorities, unfamiliar environments, and continuous learning is important.
