Since opening its virtual doors in 1995, Amazon has continued to pursue new ways to improve the customer experience. At Amazon Fulfillment Centers, teams work together in a fast-paced environment to support the movement of customer orders and maintain high operational standards. Safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement are important parts of the workplace.
About The Role
Amazon is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA) department at its Hollister, California location. Working closely with ICQA and Inbound and Outbound operations teams, you will provide data and analytical support for ACES initiatives, investigate defects and root causes, and help maintain compliance with ICQA-related SOX requirements. You will develop and communicate analysis that helps teams understand performance, identify opportunities, and improve processes.
The successful candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working through ambiguity in a fast-changing operational environment. You will need to learn new methodologies and data sources, assess the business impact of your work, and communicate findings clearly to audiences with varying levels of data expertise. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position on a Monday-to-Friday shift, with overtime as required. Flexible scheduling, including weekends, nights, or holidays, may be required based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience using computers and Microsoft Office applications. Candidates should have experience with Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, and experience writing VBA and using Excel macros. Expertise in SQL, Tableau, and Python is required, along with demonstrated experience extracting and analyzing data to support root-cause identification and process improvement. At least one year of Microsoft Office experience is required; two or more years is preferred. A data analytics certificate or equivalent training or experience, such as completion of a Career Choice Data Analyst program, is preferred.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States. The role requires the ability to work 40 hours per week and overtime when needed. Fulfillment Center work may involve lifting up to 49 pounds; standing or walking for shifts of up to 10–12 hours; and frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work areas may have varying noise and temperatures, and tasks may involve working on secure mezzanines or powered equipment.
Responsibilities
Develop data collection processes and data management systems, and maintain data integrity with a target of zero errors. Design queries, compile information, and create reports using Microsoft Access and Excel. Chart and graph data, conduct in-depth research into defect trends, and perform data collection, entry, mining, and problem-solving as needed. Present analysis in clear, standardized reports that make findings easy to understand. Teach leadership team members how to interpret data trends when needed, support root-cause investigations and process improvement initiatives, and provide backup support for ICQA Process Assistant duties. Complete other priority requests assigned by senior leadership.
Benefits
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage beginning on Day 1, a 401(k) plan with company match, holiday and overtime pay, and an employee discount. Additional support includes an Employee Assistance Program, mental health support, and a medical advice line. Starting pay for this position in Hollister, California, is $27.25–$29.25 per hour, including the highest available shift differential where applicable. Final pay depends on factors such as shift selection and location. Relocation assistance is not provided. Amazon is committed to a safe work environment; required safety practices and equipment apply.
