About The Role

Reliable Software is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications. In this role, you will work with engineers, product partners, designers, and other stakeholders to turn requirements into reliable features. You will take part in technical discussions, write clean and well-tested code, and help improve the performance and usability of our products. The ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and comfortable solving problems across different stages of software development. Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is preferred, or you may bring equivalent practical experience. You should have experience building or supporting software applications in a professional, academic, or project-based setting. Familiarity with one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or a comparable language, is expected. You should understand fundamental software engineering concepts, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and version control. Experience with databases, APIs, automated testing, cloud platforms, or modern development frameworks is an advantage. We also value the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, manage assigned work responsibly, respond constructively to feedback, and collaborate with colleagues from varied disciplines.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain reliable software features that meet product requirements and established engineering standards. Collaborate with team members to clarify requirements, assess technical options, and break work into manageable tasks. Write readable, maintainable code and contribute unit, integration, or other appropriate tests. Review code thoughtfully, share constructive feedback, and apply review comments to improve quality. Investigate defects, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions while considering performance, security, and long-term maintainability. Participate in planning, estimation, technical reviews, and team discussions. Document relevant design decisions and implementation details so that solutions can be understood and supported by others. Monitor application behavior where appropriate and contribute to improvements in reliability, accessibility, and user experience. Stay informed about relevant tools and engineering practices, and share useful knowledge with the team.
