Prepress Production Specialist — Vinyl Works LLC, South Amboy, NJ

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Prepress Production Specialist to join our large-format print team. This role is responsible for reviewing customer artwork, creating and revising production-ready layouts, generating customer proofs, and preparing production-ready files for print.

The ideal candidate has experience in prepress and large-format print production, with a strong understanding of file preparation, artwork scaling, image resolution, color management, and Adobe Creative Suite. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, technical problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Review customer-supplied artwork for print readiness and production requirements.

• Create, modify, and prepare artwork using established templates and customer assets.

• Generate PDF proofs for customer review and approval.

• Prepare accurate press-ready PDF files for production.

• Develop and maintain production templates while ensuring accurate scaling and dimensions.

• Verify artwork dimensions, image resolution, bleed, and file specifications.

• Troubleshoot and resolve artwork, layout, and production-related issues.

• Perform file quality checks to ensure production accuracy.

• Collaborate with Sales and Production teams throughout the order process.

• Participate in press checks and assist with print quality verification when needed.

• Maintain organized project files and documentation.

• Adhere to established production standards and workflow procedures.

Required Qualifcations

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat.

• Experience in prepress, print production, graphic design, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of CMYK and RGB color spaces.

• Strong understanding of image resolution, bleed requirements and artwork scaling.

• Experience preparing production-ready PDF files.

• Ability to develop and work with scaled production templates.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifcations

• Experience in large-format print production.

• Experience with vehicle wraps, signage, banners, trade show graphics, or related products.

• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar workflow/CRM platforms.

• Experience with image retouching and color correction.

• Experience working in a production-focused design environment.
