About The Role

Diversified Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Oracle Developer for a remote opportunity supporting an enterprise modernization initiative. In this role, you will help migrate legacy Oracle Forms applications to Oracle Application Express (APEX) on Oracle Database 19c. The applications support mission-critical environmental and regulatory systems, making reliability, security, and long-term maintainability central to the work.

You will collaborate with technical leads, business stakeholders, and development teams to understand existing systems and deliver modern application experiences. The successful candidate brings strong Oracle PL/SQL and APEX development expertise, sound analytical skills, and experience contributing throughout the software development lifecycle. This role also involves documentation, release support, knowledge transfer, and communication with management and client teams.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Candidates should have five to seven years of experience developing with Oracle PL/SQL and five to seven years of Oracle APEX application development experience. Required technical expertise includes developing stored procedures, functions, packages, and advanced SQL queries, along with a strong understanding of Oracle RDBMS, preferably Oracle 19c.

Experience with SQL Developer and/or TOAD, data modeling principles, and web service integration is required. Candidates must have experience debugging, testing, and tuning SQL queries, views, and stored procedures in Oracle and SQL Server. Strong problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience modernizing Oracle Forms, supporting Commonwealth or environmental systems, working with XML, HTML, Java, PL/SQL APIs, SOA architecture, or Agile/Scrum teams is preferred. Experience supporting regulatory or mission-critical systems and producing clear technical and functional documentation is also an advantage.

Responsibilities

Analyze existing Oracle Forms application architectures, data structures, documentation, reporting, and integrations to understand system requirements and functionality. Support the conversion of legacy applications to Oracle APEX, and design modern APEX user interfaces in collaboration with technical leads. Help establish consistent UI/UX standards for future applications.

Develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, and advanced queries. Perform data pulls, analysis, and scripting to support reporting and system enhancements. Implement and support application security, roles, and authorization models across integrated Oracle systems. Profile and tune application and database performance to improve responsiveness, security, and maintainability.

Contribute to requirements gathering, analysis, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support. Prepare technical, business-functional, and system documentation. Assist with production deployments and release management, provide knowledge transfer to client IT staff and developers, and mentor colleagues as appropriate. Share weekly status updates with management and generate reports for executive management, end users, and Bureau of Information Technology staff.
