German Language Specialist – Website Translation & UX Review

Freelance | Fully Remote | Full-time | Outside IR35 | 1-week contract | November start

We're looking for an experienced German Language Specialist / Translator to support the German market expansion of a digital B2B platform.

This is a hands-on translation quality assurance role for someone who is fully fluent in both English and German, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to ensure translated website content is accurate, natural and consistent across key user journeys.

You'll be reviewing the English and German versions of the platform side by side, identifying translation errors, improving copy quality and documenting changes for the product and development teams.

What you'll be doing:

• Reviewing key website user journeys across the English and German versions of the platform.

• Comparing translated content to ensure accuracy of meaning, tone and context.

• Identifying and correcting spelling, grammar, terminology and translation errors.

• Ensuring German-language content reads naturally and delivers a clear, professional user experience.

• Reviewing copy consistency across different pages, features and user journeys.

• Taking a structured, methodical approach to ensure all relevant content is reviewed.

• Documenting recommended changes clearly so non-German-speaking colleagues can implement them efficiently.

• Working directly with the Senior Product Manager to communicate findings and support improvements.

What you'll bring:

• Full professional fluency in both German and English is essential.

• Proven experience in translation, localisation, proofreading or linguistic quality assurance.

• Excellent German spelling, grammar and written communication skills.

• Experience reviewing website, platform or digital product content.

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify subtle differences in meaning and context.

• Excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach to reviewing multiple user journeys.

• Ability to document translation issues and recommended corrections clearly for non-German-speaking teams.

• Confidence working independently and taking ownership of deliverables.

• Experience with technical B2B products or SaaS platforms would be advantageous.
