About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced, visionary Production Specialist to direct, film, score, and edit compelling video assets and educational curriculums for our non-profit programs.

In this role, you will take lead responsibility for translating complex, sophisticated concepts into clear, engaging, and high-impact visual media. Working closely with our leadership team, Lead Instructor, and Project Manager, you will bring our curriculum to life through high-production-value video content, documentary-style stories, and educational media assets designed to educate, inspire, and support our audience.

Key Roles & Responsibilities• Directing & Field Production: Direct and execute high-quality multi-camera video shoots, interview setups, and on-location field production across diverse environments.

• Cinematography & Audio: Handle camera operations, lighting, field audio recording, and visual composition to ensure a warm, professional, and accessible aesthetic.

• Post-Production Excellence: Lead video editing, color grading, visual assembly, dynamic graphics/subtitling, and final master exporting for multi-platform delivery (web, social, LMS, event screens).

• Custom Music & Scoring: Score, mix, and sound-design audio tracks to enhance emotional resonance, pacing, and viewer engagement.

• Educational Translation: Adapt complex therapeutic, wellness, or educational frameworks into clear, visually engaging, and highly digestible video modules.

• Storyboarding & Script Alignment: Collaborate with instructional staff and subject matter experts to translate core concepts into concise, structured video scripts, shot lists, and storyboards.

• Short-Form & Digital Assets: Produce both long-form educational modules and engaging short-form video clips (e.g., 15–30 second hooks, social highlights) to drive grassroots community awareness and outreach.

• Media Archiving & Compliance: Maintain clean media asset organization, secure digital storage, backup workflows, and participant release forms in full compliance with privacy standards.

• Timeline Delivery: Manage post-production schedules in close alignment with the Project Manager to meet key grant deliverables, launch dates, and event timelines.

• Equipment Management: Maintain, organize, and manage field audio/video production equipment, ensuring readiness for all shoots.

Qualifications & ExperienceRequired Qualifications:• Experience: 10+ years of professional experience directing, filming, scoring, and editing documentaries, educational video series, or high-end digital media.

• Proven High-Reach Track Record: A portfolio or track record demonstrating the creation of video content that achieved broad distribution, viral reach, or 1M+ views across digital platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or documentary outlets).

• Educational/Conceptual Translation: Demonstrated ability to translate complex, nuanced, or technical methodologies into accessible, engaging visual content.

• Technical Mastery: High-level mastery of industry-standard cameras, lighting, field audio gear, and editing suites (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) alongside custom audio scoring/sound design tools.

• Portfolio / Reel: A strong portfolio demonstrating documentary-style storytelling, clear instructional media, high production value, and dynamic editing.

• Adaptability & Independence: Proven capacity to manage end-to-end video production independently from creative concept through final delivery.

Small Team Flexibility & All-Hands CultureAs part of a lean, mission-driven non-profit launching a new initiative, flexibility is key. While your primary responsibility is video production, editing, and scoring, we operate with an "all-hands-on-deck" mindset. You will collaborate closely with our small team, occasionally assisting with event production, media logistics, or general administrative support as needed. We value creative problem-solving, artistic integrity, and a team-first spirit.

Work Environment: On-site and field-based across local program sites in Eugene, OR, with occasional evening or weekend availability tied to community events and program sessions.
