About The Role

The Product Designer plays a critical role in crafting end-to-end digital experiences that serve Care Access participants, members, and internal teams. This position translates complex and evolving requirements across health screenings, clinical research, participant engagement, recruitment, member services, and operational workflows into clear, accessible, and intuitive product designs.

Reporting to the Principal Product Designer and collaborating closely with product, engineering, research, and business teams, the Product Designer manages assigned design projects from problem definition through to delivery. Responsibilities may include designing participant-facing applications or internal tools used by recruitment, member services, clinical research coordinators, and other stakeholder groups.

This mid-level role requires agility in moving between discovery, workflow mapping, interface design, prototyping, feedback integration, and implementation support. The Product Designer must be comfortable adapting to shifting priorities, sharing work early, incorporating diverse feedback, and partnering closely with developers to produce practical, high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• A portfolio showcasing end-to-end product or UX/UI design work, demonstrating problem-solving, process, collaboration, and outcomes.

• Proficiency in creating user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity interfaces, and interactive prototypes using Figma or comparable design tools.

• Experience designing responsive, multi-step workflows for participant-facing products, internal tools, or complex digital experiences.

• Ability to apply, document, and contribute to a design system while ensuring UI pattern consistency.

• Working knowledge of accessibility principles and ability to integrate accessible interaction and visual design practices.

• Experience participating in user interviews and usability testing, synthesizing feedback into actionable design improvements.

• Strong communication skills to clearly articulate design rationale, present work remotely, and engage in constructive feedback.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote work environment.

• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs.

• Comfort working closely with implementation teams, discussing interaction behaviors and technical constraints; familiarity with HTML, CSS, or prototyping with code is advantageous.

• Curiosity and openness to leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance design exploration, prototyping, and documentation.

• Empathy, respect, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Bonus Experience

• Background in healthcare, clinical trials, or other regulated, trust-sensitive environments.

• Hands-on front-end development experience (HTML/CSS/JS).

• Familiarity with GitHub and version-controlled workflows.

• Native or mobile design experience.

• Experience working in a start-up environment.

• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.

Education And Experience

• Minimum education: GED (to comply with Care Access minimum requirement).

• Minimum experience: 2+ years of product, UX, or UI design experience contributing to digital products as part of a cross-functional team, with demonstrated ability to take work from discovery through detailed design and implementation support.

Responsibilities

• Design and iterate on user flows, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and final interface specifications primarily using Figma or comparable tools.

• Explore multiple design concepts, document edge cases and interaction states, and incorporate stakeholder and user feedback.

• Provide developers with clear specifications regarding behaviors, content, and visual details to ensure accurate implementation.

• Apply and contribute to the living design system by selecting appropriate UI patterns, documenting reusable components, and identifying opportunities for system improvements.

• Develop subject matter expertise in assigned product areas by reviewing requirements, mapping current journeys, identifying friction points, and clarifying user and business outcomes.

• Support product discovery and design validation through preparation and facilitation of user interviews, usability sessions, and stakeholder discussions.

• Analyze user feedback, product data, and support trends in partnership with product managers, engineers, and operational teams to identify usability, accessibility, and workflow issues and recommend prioritized improvements.

• Verify that delivered experiences align with approved designs and intended user outcomes.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the product and organization.

Benefits

• Paid Time Off (PTO) and company-paid holidays.

• 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance plan options.
