The mission of the Cloud Intelligence Group SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) Team is to ensure the stability of production environments, enterprise-grade cloud data reliability, and service continuity for the Cloud Intelligence Group, achieving availability that exceeds 99.99%.
This role is a reliability engineer with a strong software-engineering core. You will own a defined set of production services and — more importantly — design and build the automation, tooling, and intelligent-operations capabilities that keep those services, and the teams running them, efficient and reliable. The scope of systems owned is focused; the engineering bar is high: we expect reliability problems to be solved by writing software.
Objectives of the role
• Building reliability tooling and platforms: Design and develop operations tooling and platforms: change automation, monitoring and alerting pipelines, diagnostic and self-healing capabilities, and emergency-collaboration tooling; Simplify reliability engineering for the wider organization through automation.
• Operating production services: Own the day-to-day reliability of a defined set of production services: deployment, release management, capacity and performance management, monitoring, and on-call support.
• On-call responsibilities: Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation for the services owned; responding to alerts and customer issues within Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframes, resolving problems proactively, and enhancing customer experience.
• Intelligent operations (AIOps): Apply intelligent systems/ML and natural language processing-based techniques to operations: anomaly detection, alert-noise reduction, automated investigation and triage workflows, and knowledge-driven root cause analysis.
• Stability governance and continuous improvement: Contribute to stability standards and metrics; drive root cause analysis and postmortem follow-through; eliminate toil systematically.
• Cross-timezone engineering collaboration: Partner with R&D and SRE colleagues distributed across time zones to align on designs, releases, and incident follow-ups.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality operations tooling and platforms used by SRE and R&D teams (automation, monitoring/alerting, diagnostics, self-healing).
• Own reliability for a defined set of production services: release management, capacity planning, performance tuning, monitoring, and participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents; perform root cause analysis and drive systemic fixes through code and automation.
• Identify and eliminate toil; measure and improve the engineering efficiency of operations workflows.
• Explore and integrate intelligent systems/natural language processing capabilities into operations workflows (AIOps), from alert triage to automated investigation.
• Collaborate with R&D teams and colleagues distributed across time zones on designs, releases, and reliability improvements.
• Perform daily operations and maintenance of applications, databases, and middleware, as well as troubleshooting and answering customer inquiries as needed.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of software development experience in Go, Python, Java, or a comparable language, with a track record of building tools, platforms, or services used by other engineers or running in production.
• 2+ years of experience operating production services, including participation in on-call rotations, monitoring/alerting, incident response, and release management.
• Proficiency with Linux environments, cloud infrastructure, and container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker).
• Strong system diagnostic and problem-solving skills; comfort reading and debugging large distributed codebases and systems.
• Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across time zones with distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience applying intelligent systems/ML or natural language processing-based techniques to operations (AIOps): anomaly detection, alert-noise reduction, agentic investigation/triage workflows, or natural language processing observability.
• In-depth understanding of monitoring/observability systems (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, logging/tracing stacks) and experience building on top of them.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD (Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or similar).
• Experience in designing and implementing distributed systems, message queues, or data pipelines.
• SRE or DevOps experience at a major cloud provider or an internet-scale company.
