A bit about us:
We’re a precision manufacturer producing custom components and assemblies for aerospace, aviation, medical device, and commercial customers. We’re looking for a Technical Product Owner to improve how information moves from quoting and engineering through production, inspection, and shipment.
Why join us?
• Own the technical roadmap. Help decide which manufacturing system improvements come first and guide them from requirements through rollout.
• Solve problems you can see on the shop floor. Help teams get the right drawing revision, track jobs through production, and connect inspection records to the correct orders.
• Work directly with the people who use the systems. Collaborate with estimating, engineering, production, and quality to design and test changes against real shop workflows.
• Apply your integration skills to precision manufacturing. Improve how data moves between systems that support custom components for aerospace, aviation, and medical device customers.
Job Details
About the Role
You’ll work with estimating, engineering, production, quality, and shipping to identify where disconnected systems and manual handoffs slow work down. You’ll own the technical roadmap and backlog, translate operational needs into requirements, and guide changes through testing and release. Projects could include making sure the correct drawing revision reaches the shop floor or linking inspection records to the right job.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and prioritize the roadmap and backlog for manufacturing systems and integrations.
• Map workflows across quoting, order entry, production planning, machining, inspection, and shipping. Identify where duplicate entry or incomplete handoffs create delays and rework.
• Turn business requirements into technical user stories, process maps, data mappings, and testable acceptance criteria.
• Define how systems exchange data, including which system owns each record, how updates sync, and how errors are handled.
• Work with technical teams and software vendors to evaluate implementation options, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate releases.
• Lead user acceptance testing with office and shop-floor teams. Validate changes against real scenarios such as drawing revisions, work order changes, and inspection exceptions.
• Measure whether releases improve order accuracy, job visibility, traceability, or time spent entering data.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant experience in technical product ownership, business systems analysis, or software delivery.
• Experience owning a technical backlog and guiding work from requirements through testing and release.
• Practical understanding of APIs, system integrations, data mapping, synchronization, and error handling.
• Ability to write clear requirements and acceptance criteria that developers or implementation partners can use.
• Experience reproducing system issues, tracing them across applications, and explaining their impact to business teams.
Preferred Experience
• Experience with ERP, MES, QMS, or other manufacturing systems, ideally in a machine shop or discrete manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with quoting, work orders, job travelers, drawing revisions, inspection records, or material and lot traceability.
• Experience supporting aerospace, medical device, or another manufacturing environment with formal quality and documentation requirements.
