About the Opportunity

An established global financial services organisation is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Presentation Designer to join its creative presentations team in Chicago.

This is an exciting opportunity for a designer who combines strong creative flair with exceptional technical skills to produce sophisticated, high-impact presentations and visual communications for senior stakeholders and clients.

Working within a fast-paced, professional environment, you will play a key role in transforming complex financial and business information into clear, compelling and visually engaging materials.

While the position includes an element of document production and formatting, the primary focus is on creative presentation design, visual storytelling and delivering exceptional design quality.

Key Responsibilities

Presentation Design & Visual Communication

• Conceptualise, design and deliver high-quality PowerPoint presentations, pitch books and client-facing materials.

• Transform complex financial data, business concepts and detailed information into clear, engaging visual narratives.

• Create bespoke charts, graphs, tables, diagrams, icons and infographics that communicate information effectively.

• Develop fully functional, professionally designed PowerPoint templates aligned with corporate and client brand guidelines.

• Apply strong design principles, including typography, layout, colour, alignment and visual hierarchy, to ensure consistency and visual impact.

Creative Design & Production

• Design and produce a range of visual assets, including illustrations, infographics and supporting presentation graphics.

• Undertake image retouching, editing and manipulation to enhance visual content.

• Create, recreate and vectorise logos and other brand assets.

• Design and recreate complex technical diagrams, geographical maps and industry-specific visualisations.

• Produce occasional print and digital collateral, including invitations, signage, banners and other branded materials.

Document Quality & Collaboration

• Format, refine and quality-check PowerPoint, Word, Excel and PDF documents to a consistently high standard.

• Adapt and apply existing corporate and client templates while maintaining brand integrity.

• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to interpret briefs, develop creative solutions and deliver work to demanding deadlines.

• Manage multiple assignments through a structured workflow or job-ticketing system, balancing competing priorities effectively.

• Maintain exceptional accuracy, attention to detail and quality control across all deliverables.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years' professional experience in presentation design, graphic design or a similar creative role, ideally within financial services, professional services or another corporate environment.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including complex slide layouts, templates, charts and presentation formatting.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro, particularly for document formatting and production.

• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

• Demonstrable experience creating sophisticated infographics, financial charts, diagrams and data visualisations.

• Excellent understanding of graphic design fundamentals, including typography, composition, colour theory, visual hierarchy and brand consistency.

• Ability to translate complex information and initial concepts into polished, professional and visually compelling designs.

• Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and presentation quality.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

• Confidence working independently, taking ownership of projects and contributing effectively within a wider team.

• Adaptability, sound judgement and the ability to respond positively to changing priorities.

• Resourcefulness and a proactive approach to research, problem-solving and learning new techniques.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, Business or a related discipline.

• Previous experience designing investment banking pitch books, financial presentations or other complex corporate communications.

• Experience developing branded presentation templates and visual identity systems.

• Familiarity with specialist financial charts, technical diagrams or industry-specific mapping.

• A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical expertise and the ability to present complex information clearly.
