Performance Marketer — Growth Strategy

Global | Remote | Full-Time

Own paid performance. Think commercially. Help serious DTC brands scale profitably.

About the Company

We’re a performance marketing and growth partner to 8- and 9-figure consumer brands.

We combine paid media, creative strategy, measurement, financial thinking, and eCommerce strategy to solve one problem: how to scale customer acquisition while producing better financial outcomes.

We’re an ambitious, high-performance environment built around technical excellence, continuous education, accountability, and value creation. Our goal is to become one of the world’s most respected DTC growth partners for nine-figure brands.

The Role

We’re hiring Performance Marketers who want to become complete growth operators, not just media buyers.

You’ll own high-spend eCommerce accounts across Meta, Google, and other paid channels while working directly with clients and an experienced internal team.

You’ll need to understand what is happening inside the ad account, why it is happening, and what it means commercially.

That means connecting paid media performance with creative, contribution margin, LTV:CAC, aMER, forecasting, offers, customer behaviour, and broader eCommerce economics.

This role comes with real autonomy. We’ll invest heavily in your development, but we will not micromanage you.

Responsibilities

You will be accountable for:

• Owning paid media performance across Meta and Google, from campaign architecture and execution through optimisation and scaling.

• Diagnosing growth constraints using advertising, creative, conversion, attribution, and financial data, not simply reacting to ROAS.

• Identifying creative fatigue and opportunities, developing testing hypotheses, and turning insights into prioritised briefs.

• Connecting marketing performance to commercial outcomes including LTV:CAC, contribution margin, aMER, payback period, pacing, and profitability.

• Owning client relationships by preparing properly, communicating clearly, raising risks early, and confidently explaining recommendations.

• Building and prioritising testing roadmaps based on expected profit and growth impact.

• Identifying opportunities beyond the ad account, including offers, geography, funnel, channel mix, incrementality, and conversion.

• Sharing learnings, challenging assumptions constructively, and contributing to technical discussions and team round-tables.

Non-Negotiables

1. Strong Paid Media & eCommerce Expertise

You must have genuine hands-on expertise in paid advertising and eCommerce.

For senior-level consideration, we’re looking for approximately 4–7 years of experience, ideally including ownership of high-spend eCommerce accounts at $80K+ per month.

You should be able to independently diagnose performance, make optimisation decisions, develop testing strategies, and explain the commercial reasoning behind them.

2. Commercial & Financial Thinking

Great platform execution alone isn't enough.

You need to understand LTV:CAC, MER/aMER, contribution margin, payback, profitability, forecasting, and eCommerce unit economics.

Backgrounds in economics, business, data, computer science, or similarly analytical disciplines are valued, but demonstrated capability matters most.

3. Client-Facing Strength

This is not a behind-the-scenes media-buying role.

You’ll need to build trust, explain complex decisions simply, remain composed under performance pressure, and communicate proactively with clients.

4. Melbourne Time Zone Overlap

You must consistently work one of these schedules:

• 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Melbourne time

• 2:00 PM–10:00 PM Melbourne time

The 2:00 PM–6:00 PM Melbourne-time window is particularly important for team and client collaboration.

5. Student of the Game

We want autodidacts who genuinely want to become exceptional.

You should actively learn across paid media, DTC, creative strategy, economics, data, and business. You research, test, ask sharp questions, challenge assumptions, and stay current without waiting for company training.

6. Proactive, Visible, Prepared & Coachable

These are operating requirements.

The behaviours most likely to cause failure in the first 90 days are:

• Lack of proactivity

• Lack of visibility

• Lack of preparation

• Lack of coachability

If you're blocked, communicate. If you see a problem, raise it. If you have a meeting, prepare. If you receive feedback, implement it.

What Success Looks Like

You’re winning when clients trust you to own the outcome, not just operate their ad accounts.

Success means:

• Maintaining strong client retention and sentiment.

• Identifying churn risks and performance blockers early.

• Pacing spend accurately against agreed budgets.

• Delivering client communications and reporting on time.

• Producing testing roadmaps based on commercial impact.

• Connecting media performance to the client's P&L.

• Improving creative performance through structured testing and learning.

• Making increasingly sophisticated decisions without constant oversight.

• Showing measurable improvement from coaching and technical feedback.

• Being an active contributor to the wider team.

Required Experience

Strong candidates will typically bring:

• 4–7 years of paid-media experience for senior-level consideration.

• Significant hands-on experience with DTC/eCommerce brands.

• Experience managing $80K+ monthly advertising budgets.

• Strong proficiency across Meta and Google Ads.

• Experience independently building and evolving campaign structures.

• Ability to diagnose creative fatigue, auction dynamics, conversion issues, and other performance constraints.

• Experience developing and prioritising testing roadmaps.

• Commercial fluency across LTV:CAC, MER/aMER, contribution margin, payback periods, and margin.

• Experience with forecasting, budget planning, or media-mix decisions.

• Strong creative analysis and briefing capability.

• Direct client communication experience.

• Evidence of sound decision-making with limited oversight.

Experience with TikTok Ads, CRO, advanced tracking, email/SMS, affiliate marketing, copywriting, or broader eCommerce growth strategy is a plus.

Tools & Environment

You may work across:

Meta Ads • Google Ads • TikTok Ads • Shopify • Slack • • Loom • Foreplay • Miro

We’re remote, fast-moving, highly collaborative, and performance-driven.

Autonomy here means taking responsibility, not disappearing into your own workflow. We want team players who are resourceful, critically minded, solution-oriented, hungry to improve, and collaborative.

Growth & Development

You’ll receive significant coaching and development, including two individual development sessions plus a weekly group round-table, alongside opportunities to learn from senior operators and contribute to the wider platform.

The goal isn't simply to make you a better media buyer.

We want to develop your capability across:

Paid Media → Creative Strategy → Financial Acumen → Growth Strategy → Commercial Decision-Making

Career progression is driven by demonstrated competence and impact, not tenure.

Compensation & Benefits

Base: $5,000–$13,000/month, depending on demonstrated level and capability.

An additional 8–15% bonus structure may apply.

Competence comes first, followed by culture, then compensation.

Who Thrives Here

You’ll thrive here if you are:

• Humble, hungry, resourceful, and emotionally intelligent.

• Willing to take responsibility before assigning blame.

• Naturally curious and committed to learning.

• Prepared and proactive in meetings.

• Comfortable having your thinking challenged.

• Able to change your position when better evidence appears.

• Focused on becoming exceptional at your craft.

• Excited to work alongside people with equally high standards.

Who Will Struggle

This probably isn't the right environment if you:

• Need frequent supervision to maintain momentum.

• Know ad platforms but lack eCommerce or commercial understanding.

• Avoid client-facing conversations.

• Wait until problems become obvious before raising them.

• Go quiet when blocked or performance deteriorates.

• Arrive at meetings unprepared.

• Become defensive when challenged or coached.

• Rarely invest personal time in developing your expertise.

• Prefer operating alone rather than contributing to a team.

• Want a comfortable media-buying role rather than increasing responsibility.

Hiring Process

We don’t want every strong candidate completing an unnecessary multi-hour assessment.

The process may vary depending on what we need to validate:

Application → Initial Screening → Meet & Greet and/or Technical Assessment → Final Interview → Offer

Candidates who demonstrate strong technical ability but need further validation on client-facing capability may complete a practical assessment.

Highly credible candidates with strong interpersonal and client-service capability may progress directly to a meet-and-greet.

Where required, the technical assessment may involve approximately 2–4 hours of preparation and a 15–20 minute video presentation.

Apply

If you’re looking for another role where you simply manage campaigns and report ROAS, this probably isn't it.

If you want to become a commercially sophisticated growth operator working with serious DTC businesses, we’d like to hear from you.

Come prepared to demonstrate what you've managed, what you've learned, how you think, and the business outcomes you've personally helped create.
