The role focuses on building user-facing web applications where performance, accessibility, and developer experience all matter. This is a frontend engineering position with real ownership — the engineer will ship production features end-to-end, from component design to deployment, for a product used by hundreds of thousands of users.
The team owns a large TypeScript/React codebase and treats frontend architecture seriously: design systems, bundle performance, rendering strategy, and testing are first-class concerns, not afterthoughts. The role works directly with product designers and backend engineers in a hybrid Seattle office.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and ship user-facing features in React and TypeScript, owning delivery from implementation through production monitoring
• Develop and maintain a shared component library and design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and reusability across products
• Optimize application performance: bundle analysis, code splitting, lazy loading, and Core Web Vitals improvements measured against real user metrics
• Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs, collaborating with backend engineers on contracts, error handling, and loading/edge states
• Write unit and integration tests using Jest and React Testing Library; contribute to Playwright-based end-to-end coverage
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and RFC processes that shape frontend standards across the organization
• Debug production issues using tools like Sentry and Datadog RUM, and drive fixes through to resolution
What We Are Looking For
• 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience shipping production web applications
• Deep proficiency in TypeScript, React (including hooks, state management patterns, and performance profiling), and modern CSS
• Experience with at least one modern build tooling ecosystem: Vite, Webpack, Turborepo, or Next.js
• Strong understanding of browser internals, rendering behavior, and web performance fundamentals
• Track record of building accessible interfaces and working with accessibility tooling (axe, Lighthouse, screen readers)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Bonus: experience with GraphQL (Apollo), design systems tooling (Storybook), mobile web or React Native, or contributing to open-source frontend libraries
