We're partnering with an ambitious, well-funded robotics company in Greater Boston that's developing intelligent autonomous systems designed to operate in complex, real-world environments.

With its core technology already developed and the engineering team expanding, the business is entering an exciting phase: taking increasingly sophisticated AI and robotics capabilities into real-world deployment.

They're looking for a Staff Perception Engineer to take ownership of critical parts of the perception stack and help solve some genuinely challenging problems at the intersection of computer vision, machine learning and robotics.

What you'll be working on:

• Designing and developing perception algorithms that enable robots to interpret and navigate their surroundings.

• Building robust 2D/3D computer vision systems, including object detection, tracking and pose estimation.

• Working with camera, depth and LiDAR data to improve environmental understanding.

• Developing and optimizing perception software in C++ and Python for real-time robotic applications.

• Taking algorithms from prototype through testing, integration and deployment on physical robots.

• Collaborating closely with autonomy, robotics software and hardware engineers to improve system performance.

What they're looking for:

• Strong C++ and Python development experience.

• Deep expertise in computer vision, 3D perception or sensor fusion.

• Experience developing perception systems for physical robotic platforms.

• Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2 and modern robotics software architectures.

• A track record of owning technically challenging projects and delivering working systems.

Experience with SLAM, localization, deep learning, motion planning or robot learning would be particularly interesting.

Why is this worth exploring?

This isn't a position where you'll be working on an isolated algorithm that may never leave the lab.

You'll have meaningful technical ownership, work alongside accomplished robotics engineers and directly influence how intelligent machines perceive and operate in the physical world.

It's an opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of its growth, where the engineering challenges are significant and the impact of your work will be visible.

If you're a hands-on engineer who enjoys tackling difficult problems and wants to help push Physical AI beyond research and into the real world, I'd love to tell you more.
