Python Engineer, Sr. - Remote Globally — United States

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Python Web3 Engineer to design, develop, and maintain applications that integrate Web2 and Web3 technologies. This globally remote position focuses on Python development, blockchain integrations, smart contracts, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.

You will work closely with front-end developers, product managers, DevOps professionals, and blockchain developers to build scalable and reliable applications. The role also involves contributing to architectural decisions, maintaining code quality, and mentoring junior developers while supporting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python applications that integrate Web2 and Web3 technologies.

• Implement and maintain blockchain integrations and smart contracts.

• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices for scalable applications.

• Integrate EVM blockchain platforms, including Ethereum and Avalanche, with applications.

• Architect and implement microservice-based solutions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Work with Docker and use orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.

• Implement microservices best practices, including logging, monitoring, and tracing.

• Support rich client user interfaces through RESTful APIs and Event Sourcing.

• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to support their development.

• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality.

• Encourage continuous learning and improvement within the development team.

• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver products.

• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making.

• Work with blockchain developers to maintain the integrity and security of blockchain integrations.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional Python development experience.

• Proven experience with Web2 technologies and frameworks such as Flask and Gunicorn.

• Strong understanding of Web3 concepts and blockchain technologies.

• Hands-on experience with blockchain integration and some smart contract development.

• Proficiency in Python and related libraries and frameworks.

• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and related technologies.

• Understanding of event-based programming using Redis.

• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to mentor and guide junior developers effectively.

• Ability to collaborate as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with EVM blockchain platforms such as Ethereum.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React and Vue.js is a plus.
