Senior Cybersecurity Engineer — San Diego, CA

This defense and technology employer is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support mission-critical defense systems and initiatives.

The Role

• Apply cybersecurity engineering principles across the system lifecycle to identify, analyze, and mitigate cyber risk

• Construct and apply threat models using frameworks like STRIDE, PASTA, or attack trees to determine realistic adversary paths

• Analyze complex system architectures, networks, software, and interfaces to identify vulnerabilities and mission impacts

• Translate cybersecurity findings into actionable engineering recommendations and defensive measures

• Partner with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate cyber resiliency into mission-critical platforms

What You'll Need

• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in cybersecurity engineering and vulnerability analysis

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline

• Demonstrated hands-on experience building and applying threat models to real systems

• DoD 8570.01 compliant certification (IAM, IAT, and/or IASAE qualification)

• Active DoD Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
