Creative Copywriter (Mid level) — Minneapolis, MN

Overview

maxa is looking for an ambitious mid-level Copywriter with 4 or more years of agency experience. You're right for the job if you're a self-starter, problem-solver, conceptual thinker, and imaginative storyteller capable of creating and producing innovative, shareable, meaningful, and award-winning work. You must also have a proven track record of championing social/digital ideas as well as bringing energy and passion to your teams and projects.

Responsibilities

You’re not just a Creative, you’re a Writer expected to write with craft and care. From manifestos and idea descriptions to scripts, taglines, headlines, and social copy, you ladder every thought up to the strategy and make every word sing. Finally, you can sell ideas (both internally and to clients) through a confident, engaging, carefully considered presentation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Copywriter; minimum of 4+ years of experience within an advertising agency preferred

• Mastery of the mechanics of writing: punctuation, spelling, structure and organization of writing. And the ability to self edit.

• Self-motivated, takes initiative, and needs minimal direction.

• Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities, both internally and with clients.

• Effective time management. Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize accordingly to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Must have great interpersonal skills, work well within a team environment and take direction and feedback well.

• Solution-oriented in the face of challenges.

• Infinitely curious and always questioning.

• Desire to grow and a willingness to develop additional skills.

• Embody and embrace maxa values.

• Working knowledge of Canva, Keynote, Google docs/slides, and Microsoft Word.

This is a locally-based role, where relocation will be required for candidates living outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. We currently observe a hybrid work model. We work onsite every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for Work From maxa (WFM) days, in addition to moments that matter outside of those designated days, with the purpose of fostering agency connection and aiding collaboration. Willigness to travel is required.
