About the Opportunity:

The MOBILE / UI/UX ENGINEER role is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing student-facing digital platforms with a focus on mobile and user experience. This position plays a key role in improving platform usability, performance, and responsiveness while contributing to new digital initiatives. The engineer will progressively take on greater technical ownership, including developing native or cross-platform mobile applications, thereby impacting the overall student digital experience.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive, mobile-first web applications and interfaces.

• Contribute to architecture, development, and deployment of mobile applications for iOS and Android.

• Build reusable, scalable front-end components for consistent functionality.

• Translate product requirements and designs into production-ready applications.

• Optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, accessibility, and usability.

• Integrate front-end applications with APIs, authentication, and backend services.

• Design and implement intuitive user interfaces and experiences.

• Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs.

• Maintain design systems, reusable components, and visual standards.

• Identify and resolve usability challenges based on user feedback.

• Ensure consistency in navigation, accessibility, and visual design across platforms.

• Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to deliver enhancements.

• Take ownership of features from design through deployment and iteration.

• Troubleshoot and improve application functionality.

• Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and continuous improvement.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering productivity.

• Evaluate and integrate AI-generated code with sound engineering judgment.

• Explore emerging technologies to improve the student experience.

• Establish efficient development practices without compromising quality or security.

Requirements:

• 4–7+ years of professional software engineering experience with front-end and mobile application development.

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar).

• Experience with mobile development technologies such as React Native, Flutter, Swift, or Kotlin.

• Ability to design and implement user interfaces using Figma or similar tools.

• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility, and mobile-first development.

• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs or comparable services.

• Familiarity with Git, software development workflows, testing, debugging, and CI/CD.

• Strong problem-solving, communication skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; experience deploying production mobile applications; knowledge of mobile application lifecycle and performance optimization.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:
