About The Role
Arrow International Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic Game Designer to join its Chicago studio. In this role, you will develop compelling, prize-first, slot-style game concepts and guide them from initial idea through completion. You will collaborate with specialists in mathematics, programming, audio, production, and visual arts to shape each game’s mechanics, presentation, and player experience. Your design expertise and communication skills will help the team deliver polished gaming content for Arrow’s markets.
The targeted pay range is $80,000 to $150,000, with salary determined based on experience. This position also offers an annual performance bonus and participation in the company’s profit-sharing program.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least five years of slot game design experience in casino, online, social, or related gaming environments. Candidates should be familiar with successful game-development processes and production pipelines and have experience using development and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Excel.
Experience contributing to high-quality game development in areas such as art, design, mathematics, development, or production is valued. A strong understanding of game mathematics and probability, slot mechanics, gambling principles, and player psychology is important. The successful candidate will bring excellent organizational and communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a genuine passion for creating fun, engaging player experiences.
Responsibilities
Design slot-style games from concept through final product, helping define the elements that shape the end-user experience. Work with the team to establish and communicate game requirements across mathematics, gameplay, interface, animation, sound, and art direction. Coordinate with colleagues across disciplines and locations to align priorities, make informed decisions, and keep development moving toward shared goals.
Work within project schedules and milestones, set clear objectives, and help guide the game team toward successful delivery. Partner with the Producer to identify project risks, roadblocks, and dependencies early, then proactively develop practical solutions. Conduct strategic market and data analysis to inform competitive game design. Contribute to a positive, supportive work environment by encouraging teamwork, providing guidance, and helping the team stay focused on an engaging player experience.

Arrow International Inc. offers competitive benefits designed to recognize employee contributions and support long-term well-being. Programs include a 401(k) with company match, profit sharing, an annual performance bonus, and paid time off. Employees also receive an additional bonus week of paid time off every July.
