SQL Server Data Engineer (DBA)

Location: Saint Paul, MN (Hybrid)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Data Engineer (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in database administration, T-SQL development, performance tuning, high availability, clustering, and Windows Server troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server database environments.

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and scripts.

• Perform database performance monitoring, query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Failover Clustering and SQL Server clustering.

• Handle SQL Server installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.

• Troubleshoot database-related issues and underlying Windows Server infrastructure.

• Ensure database availability, reliability, security, backup, and recovery.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and data engineering teams to support database operations.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in each of the following:

• Microsoft SQL Server Administration (DBA)

• T-SQL development and scripting

• SQL Server performance tuning and optimization

• Windows Failover Clustering and SQL Server clustering

• SQL Server installation, upgrades, patching, and maintenance

• Windows Server administration and troubleshooting

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Azure Database Administration certification or a relevant database administration certification.
