Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Wireless Software bwJYvwkj to help develop and maintain advanced cellular connectivity solutions for next-generation connected automotive platforms.
This position focuses on the development of embedded cellular software supporting vehicle connectivity features such as over-the-air software updates, emergency communications, remote vehicle access, navigation, and connected entertainment services.
The successful candidate will play a key technical role in developing and maintaining 4G LTE and 5G cellular capabilities within an automotive telematics environment. This is a hands-on individual contributor position involving embedded Linux development, modem integration, connectivity management, and collaboration with hardware, cloud, and external technology partners.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience developing production-level cellular software and is comfortable troubleshooting complex connectivity challenges across hardware, software, and wireless networks.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 6 years of embedded software or systems engineering experience.
• Minimum of 3 years developing device-side cellular software involving LTE and/or 5G technologies in commercially deployed products.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++17 or later) within embedded Linux environments.
• Experience developing multithreaded applications, state machines, inter-process communication, and unit testing using frameworks such as GoogleTest or GoogleMock.
• Hands-on experience integrating cellular modems through vendor SDKs, QMI, AT commands, MBIM, or Android Radio Interface Layer (RIL).
• Understanding of cellular network procedures, including device registration, network attachment, PDN/PDU sessions, APN configuration, roaming, and network selection.
• Strong knowledge of Linux networking, including IPv4/IPv6, routing, firewall configuration, DNS, DHCP, and network packet analysis.
• Experience diagnosing cellular connectivity problems using modem diagnostic tools and logs, such as QXDM, QCAT, or comparable platforms.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues across application software, modem firmware, and cellular network infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with eSIM architecture and remote SIM provisioning standards, including GSMA SGP.32, SGP.22, or SGP.02.
• Familiarity with embedded UICC technologies, ES10 interfaces, APDUs, IPA/LPA, SM-DP+, eIM workflows, and bootstrap/operational profile management.
• Experience with Qualcomm cellular modem platforms, particularly automotive or IoT solutions.
• Exposure to automotive modem development environments and associated software development kits.
• Familiarity with carrier certification and acceptance testing across North American, European, and Asia-Pacific markets.
• Knowledge of industry certification programs such as GCF and PTCRB, as well as carrier configuration packages.
• Experience with IMS, VoLTE, VoNR, and emergency communication technologies, including eCall and E911.
• Background developing multi-carrier, multi-SIM, or dual-modem connectivity solutions.
• Understanding of automotive embedded systems, including low-power operation, network-triggered wake-up, security, and regulatory certification requirements.
• Experience with cellular test automation, wireless network simulators, RF testing equipment, and Python-based test frameworks.
• Familiarity with Yocto/BitBake or Bazel build environments.
