QA Engineer — Albuquerque, NM

Job Summary

The QA Engineer helps ensure that software and digital products meet quality standards and provide a reliable user experience. This role works closely with engineering, product, and other teams to plan and perform testing, identify issues, and support continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Review product requirements and technical specifications to identify test needs and potential risks.

• Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.

• Document, prioritize, and track defects, including clear steps to reproduce and supporting details.

• Collaborate with developers and product teams to investigate issues and verify fixes.

• Contribute to automated testing efforts and maintain test automation where appropriate.

• Participate in release readiness activities and communicate testing progress and quality risks.

• Recommend improvements to testing processes, tools, and product quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or a related role.

• Understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.

• Ability to create clear test cases and document defects effectively.

• Familiarity with bug-tracking and test-management tools.

• Experience with manual testing; familiarity with test automation is an asset.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate across teams and manage priorities in a changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing web, mobile, or API-based applications.

• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages used for test automation.

• Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery practices.

• Relevant degree, certification, or equivalent practical experience.
