Summary of the Position

Zj8K is seeking a highly motivated Medical Graphic Designer, Content Suite to join our client’s site in South San Francisco, CA. This role will support the development and production of high-quality creative assets for medical communications, educational materials, and scientific content.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, modern designer with a strong foundation in traditional graphic design execution and the ability to transform strategic briefs into visually engaging, scalable deliverables. Working as a core member of an internal creative studio, this individual will collaborate with commercial marketing and medical strategy stakeholders to develop cohesive visual materials for patients and healthcare providers.

This hands-on position emphasizes Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Express, PowerPoint, and modern design tools to produce digital and print assets, recreate scientific charts and graphs, develop iconography, and translate complex scientific information into clear, engaging visual formats. The role requires strong attention to detail, brand consistency, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary hands-on designer, producing a high volume of quality creative assets, including digital campaign banners, social media graphics, print collateral, PowerPoint presentations, one-pagers, and scientific data visualizations.

• Translate strategic creative briefs and initial concepts into polished, scalable visual deliverables.

• Use Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Express, Figma, generative AI, and other appropriate design tools to support creative production.

• Leverage Adobe Express to efficiently develop design assets in response to rapidly evolving research outputs and strategic briefs.

• Recreate scientific charts and graphs, develop iconography, and produce additional visual elements for established templates.

• Support the development of cohesive educational materials for patients and healthcare providers, transforming scientific data into accessible and engaging visual formats.

• Apply the Medical team's visual identity system consistently across all deliverables, ensuring strong typography, accurate formatting, and adherence to brand and regulatory guidelines.

• Prepare final design files for print production and digital publishing, ensuring accuracy and production readiness.

• Organize and maintain design files, asset libraries, and templates to support content creation by marketing and medical strategy stakeholders.

• Collaborate with project managers, copywriters, medical reviewers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to execute creative briefs from initial layout through final approval.

• Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and regulatory/compliance teams, including CMLR reviews, to ensure designs meet creative, legal, and compliance requirements.

• Manage design revisions efficiently while maintaining quality, accuracy, and consistency across deliverables.

Main Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.

• Experience: 4–7 years of hands-on graphic design and production experience in an agency or in-house environment.

• Adobe Creative Cloud: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

• Adobe Express: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Express for creative production and scalable asset development.

• Presentation Design: Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including the creation of polished, high-quality presentations.

• Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent typography, layout, color theory, and real-world design deliverables across digital, print, and presentation formats. Applications without a portfolio link will not be considered.

• Design Fundamentals: Strong understanding of typography, visual hierarchy, layout, alignment, and brand consistency.

• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, including kerning, alignment, formatting consistency, and accurate brand application.

• Organization and Time Management: Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple deadlines simultaneously without compromising quality.

• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, incorporate feedback, and execute projects from initial concepts through final deliverables.

• Adaptability: Ability to respond efficiently to evolving creative requirements and stakeholder feedback while maintaining high-quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, or another highly regulated industry.

• Experience creating medical content and educational materials for patients and healthcare providers.

• Familiarity with UI/UX design tools, particularly Figma.

• Familiarity with basic motion graphics using Adobe After Effects.
