Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, secure and highly available cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud (OCI). The role focuses on infrastructure automation, reliability, resiliency, networking, security and operational excellence across multi-cloud environments. You will collaborate with application, security and operations teams to implement best practices for deployment, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery while driving continuous improvement and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud (OCI) to meet availability, performance and security requirements.

• Build and manage virtual networks (VCN/VNet), subnets, route tables, DNS, VPNs, FastConnect/ExpressRoute and cross-tenancy routing to support hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.

• Implement and operate load balancers, storage solutions, backups, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure resiliency and data protection.

• Manage identity and access (IAM), whitelisting, endpoint configuration and firewall policies to secure cloud environments and enforce least privilege.

• Develop, maintain and run automation using Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Bash and REST APIs to provision infrastructure, orchestration and configuration management.

• Create and maintain monitoring, logging and dashboarding (metrics, logs, alerts) to enable rapid detection and incident response; participate in on-call rotations and incident post-mortems.

• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across compute, networking and storage layers, drive root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to improve reliability.

• Perform capacity planning, cloud optimization and cost control activities, recommending improvements and right-sizing resources.

• Document architecture, operational runbooks, topology diagrams, network configurations and standard operating procedures for teams and audits.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, applications, networking, SRE) to deliver secure, compliant and production-ready platforms and to drive continuous improvement.

• Implement server administration tasks, manage IP addressing, and maintain firewalls and routing for complex deployments.

• Design and run tests for disaster recovery and failover, validate backup/restoration procedures and maintain recovery objectives (RTO/RPO).

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

• 1+ years experience working with cloud platforms (must have Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud / OCI experience).

• Strong practical knowledge of networking concepts including VCN/VNet, subnets, route tables, DNS, VPN, FastConnect/ExpressRoute, IP addressing and routing.

• Skilled in automation and scripting using Terraform, Python, PowerShell and Bash; experience consuming REST APIs for infrastructure automation.

• Experience with identity and access management (IAM), security controls, whitelisting, endpoint configuration and firewall management in cloud environments.

• Experience with monitoring, logging, dashboards, incident response and troubleshooting server, storage and networking issues.

• Preferred certifications: Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Fundamentals, Cloud Infrastructure Foundations, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate.

• Hands-on experience with OCI-specific features (VCN, FastConnect, Load Balancer, Object/Block Storage) and cross-tenancy designs a plus.

• Background as an Infrastructure Engineer or SRE and familiarity with disaster recovery, backups, resiliency, cloud optimization and capacity planning a plus.

• Experience with Terraform modules, CI/CD integration, cloud cost optimization tools, dashboarding platforms and log aggregation systems a plus.

• Strong written documentation skills, clear communication, collaborative mindset, problem-solving orientation and a focus on continuous improvement.
