About The Role

Cadmus is seeking a Junior Full Stack Developer to join its Federal Operations Group. You will support a high-performing Agile team responsible for enterprise platforms and shared services for a federal government healthcare organization. The team develops and maintains a secure file management application that supports uploading and downloading files, large-file transfers, file workflows, antivirus scanning, and the identification of protected health and personally identifiable information. The application is expected to undergo a complete redesign, offering an opportunity to contribute to its evolution and help shape modern, secure solutions.

Working with senior developers, product owners, and DevOps engineers, you will contribute across the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing support. This role is suited to a proactive early-career developer who enjoys learning, collaborating, and improving applications in a cloud-based environment.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, and one to two years of full-stack web development experience. Candidates should have experience with Python and/or JavaScript, including Node.js, and familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript or TypeScript. Knowledge of Angular and/or React, REST APIs, relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, Git, and collaborative development workflows is expected.

You should be familiar with Linux, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. Experience with automated testing and test-driven development is beneficial. We value self-starters with strong written and verbal communication skills who can explain technical ideas to nontechnical audiences, research solutions independently, and work effectively in Agile teams where priorities may evolve. A willingness to test new approaches, learn from setbacks, and improve quickly is important. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to obtain a Public Trust.

Preferred experience includes AWS services such as S3, ECS/Fargate, SQS, EventBridge, API Gateway, IAM, and KMS; infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation; messaging systems; OAuth2, JWT, or SAML; and application monitoring, logging, and security practices. Familiarity with Nginx or comparable web servers, AI-assisted coding tools, and DevOps-oriented environments is also valuable.

Responsibilities

Develop responsive interfaces using Angular and/or React, and build and maintain backend services using Python and/or Node.js. Design, implement, and integrate REST APIs with user interfaces and third-party services. Deploy, configure, and maintain applications on AWS, using Linux for deployment, troubleshooting, and automation. Write clean, maintainable, documented code that follows team standards. Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization. Collaborate across disciplines using Agile/Scrum practices, help resolve production issues, and support application availability, scalability, and continuous improvement.

Benefits

The salary range is $80,000–$100,000; the final offer depends on relevant experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive medical, dental, and vision coverage; company-paid disability and life insurance; a 401(k) program; paid time off and holidays; voluntary time off; tuition reimbursement; adoption assistance; optional benefits; and bonus programs. Cadmus also offers a collaborative work environment and opportunities for professional growth.
