Job Summary
Monti, Inc., a highly regarded US manufacturer of world-class components for the electrical industry, is seeking a BI Developer to join our team on-site at our Cincinnati headquarters. Reporting to the Head of Data and BI, the BI Developer will collaborate with leaders across the organization to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions that drive business performance. This includes building data models, dashboards, and reports in Power BI and partnering with key stakeholders to turn data from across our manufacturing business into meaningful insights for decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Power BI developer with strong SQL and data modeling skills who enjoys figuring out how data connects and explaining what it means to non-technical colleagues.
Why This Role
You'll be the third member of our small, growing data team. That means a real voice in shaping how the data function at Monti is built: the tools we use, the standards we set, and how the rest of the company works with data. It also means variety. You'll take on many different kinds of projects and work with people in nearly every part of the company.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and Development: Build, publish, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models, using DAX and SQL to turn data from across the business into clear, reliable insights.
• Data Integration: Learn Monti's data sources and how they link together, and bring data from multiple systems into well-structured models.
• Modernization: Help improve existing Excel, Access, and VBA reporting, and move it into Power BI where it makes sense.
• Automation: Identify manual processes that can be automated with tools such as Power Automate or Python.
• Data Analysis: Work with stakeholders to understand their questions and data needs, and present findings clearly through reports and presentations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across departments to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshooting and Performance: Debug report and data errors, and continuously improve the performance and reliability of BI reports.
• Documentation: Maintain clear, detailed documentation of reports, data models, and BI processes.
• Training and Support: Support and train end users so they can use BI reports and tools with confidence.
• Team Building: Contribute ideas and standards that shape how Monti's data team works as it grows.
What Success Looks Like In The First 90 Days
• You understand Monti's data and can see how different sources link together.
• You are creating and publishing Power BI reports that provide meaningful insight to the Monti team.
• You can debug report errors and provide clear, detailed documentation for the reports you build.
• You communicate comfortably with colleagues across the company about data questions and issues.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Technical Skills
• Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
• Strong Excel skills, plus experience with Access and VBA.
• Solid understanding of data visualization best practices.
