About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Node.js Developer with strong, hands-on Rust expertise to join our engineering team. In this role, you will build and maintain high-performance backend services, modern APIs, microservices, and distributed systems. Your work will support large-scale retail and eCommerce platforms, where reliability, security, and performance are essential. The ideal candidate has delivered production-grade applications using Rust and Node.js, understands the challenges of highly available systems, and enjoys translating complex requirements into dependable technical solutions. You will work closely with product managers, frontend developers, quality assurance, and DevOps colleagues throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

You bring substantial professional experience developing backend applications with Rust; production experience with Rust is essential for this position. You also have strong experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript or TypeScript, along with a track record of designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices. You understand backend architecture and distributed systems, and have worked with SQL and/or NoSQL databases. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform—AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure—is expected. You are comfortable using Git and CI/CD pipelines and can investigate issues through careful debugging, performance tuning, and structured problem-solving. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline is welcome. Equivalent practical experience is also relevant.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Rust and Node.js. Build high-performance APIs, microservices, and distributed components that meet product and operational requirements. Improve application performance, memory utilization, availability, and system reliability through measurement and thoughtful engineering. Develop secure RESTful APIs and backend integrations, applying sound practices for data handling and service communication. Collaborate with product, frontend, QA, and DevOps partners to clarify requirements, coordinate delivery, and support dependable releases. Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews, sharing feedback that strengthens maintainability and quality. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable solutions. Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and contribute to engineering practices that support quality across the team.
