About The Role

Archer is seeking a Senior iOS Developer to help build the next generation of aviation technology for pilots. In this role, you will join a small, expert team and directly shape an application that brings together on-device artificial intelligence, aviation systems, peripheral integrations, and a seamless mobile user experience. You will develop reliable, high-performance iOS features that support pilots and work in demanding operational settings. This position is suited to an experienced iOS engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, collaborating across disciplines, and delivering polished products in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

Architect, develop, and maintain core iOS application features in Swift, with a focus on performance, stability, usability, and maintainable implementation. Deploy and optimize on-device machine learning models using Core ML, MLX, or comparable frameworks to support real-time intelligence. Integrate and present mapping capabilities, live weather feeds, sensor data, and other aviation inputs in clear, useful interfaces. Design for dependable offline operation so essential app functionality remains available when connectivity is limited.

Partner with product, design, and AI teams to turn requirements, research, and concepts into flight-ready features. Apply strong engineering practices for testing, accessibility, code quality, and compliance. Manage the App Store release lifecycle, including provisioning, performance profiling, release support, and analytics. Contribute to technical roadmaps, peer reviews, and iterative delivery, while helping foster a collaborative engineering culture focused on thoughtful execution and shipping valuable work.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with at least five years of professional iOS development experience, is required. Candidates should demonstrate fluency in Swift, familiarity with modern UIKit and SwiftUI architectures, and a track record of shipping and supporting applications through the Apple App Store. Professional experience deploying on-device machine learning with Core ML, MLX, or similar frameworks is expected. Familiarity with mapping technologies and experience developing offline-first applications are also important.

You should bring strong testing, debugging, and optimization skills, particularly for applications where reliability is essential. Helpful additional experience includes aviation, navigation, or weather-related applications; 3D graphics or technologies such as Metal and OpenGL; aviation data formats, regulations, or electronic flight bag use cases; and working within small, agile teams and product development cycles. Benefits

Archer offers a pay-for-performance compensation approach intended to attract, retain, and motivate talent whose skills and leadership can help grow the business. The target base salary range for this position is $140,000–$200,000. Actual compensation is determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other relevant factors. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute directly to advanced aviation technology alongside a focused, multidisciplinary team.
