Position Summary:

Our partner is a healthcare technology company making healthcare more accessible through employer sponsored clinics and telehealth services for employees and their families. As the company continues expanding its digital capabilities, it is investing in its own technology platform and evolving its existing mobile application beyond basic messaging into a more connected healthcare experience that encourages ongoing patient engagement.

They are looking for a Flutter Mobile Engineer to develop and enhance production mobile applications using Flutter and Dart. This person will build new features for iOS and Android, integrate backend services, manage complex application state, and ensure reliable interactions across patient and household accounts. The role combines hands on feature development with debugging, automated testing, and continuous improvement of an application already serving real patients.

The ideal candidate is a technically curious engineer who takes ownership of the features they build and understands how those features support the broader patient experience. They are comfortable working with evolving requirements, investigating complex application behavior, and making thoughtful technical decisions with guidance from an experienced technical lead. They also understand how to use AI assisted development tools without becoming dependent on generated code.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proven experience developing, releasing, and maintaining production Flutter applications across iOS and Android, including improvements to existing codebases.

• Practical knowledge of state management using Riverpod, Bloc, Cubit, Provider, or comparable approaches, including asynchronous behavior, Futures, Streams, and changing user context.

• Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs, managing application data, and implementing reliable error handling.

• Experience implementing authentication, secure session management, and protection of sensitive application data.

• Ability to independently troubleshoot issues across UI behavior, application state, networking, and backend integrations, supported by automated Flutter testing.

• Ability to translate evolving product requirements into reliable mobile features while collaborating with technical leads and other engineers.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance Flutter and Dart applications that support patient communication, healthcare access, and ongoing engagement.

• Own features from product concepts and requirements clarification through development, testing, release, and continued maintenance.

• Build reusable UI components, application logic, and navigation flows for consistent experiences across iOS and Android.

• Implement state management and asynchronous behavior that preserve the correct patient context and prevent stale data from appearing.

• Integrate REST APIs and backend services, including data parsing, loading states, error recovery, and connectivity failures.

• Implement and maintain authentication, session management, and secure access to sensitive patient information.

• Diagnose and resolve application issues across Flutter widgets, application state, network requests, and backend interactions.

• Develop and maintain unit, widget, and integration tests to validate functionality and prevent regressions.

• Improve code quality, application performance, and maintainability while preserving functionality patients already use.

• Collaborate with the technical lead and engineering team to evaluate implementation approaches and identify edge cases.

• Identify opportunities to improve application behavior based on technical findings and user needs.

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to improve shared mobile development practices.

• Use AI-assisted development tools while independently reviewing, understanding, testing, and debugging generated code.
