About The Company

Apple creates technology and services designed to enrich people’s lives. The Wallet app brings together the experiences customers use to pay, travel, access places, verify identity, and manage everyday passes. Wallet Engineering builds the software and infrastructure behind these experiences, with a focus on convenience, privacy, security, and thoughtful design. Its products include Apple Pay, Apple Card, Apple Cash, Apple Savings, transit cards, digital keys and IDs, and passes such as tickets and boarding passes.

About The Role

Apple is seeking proactive software engineers to join its growing Wallet Engineering organization. This full-time opportunity offers a 40-hour workweek and is based in Cupertino, New York City, or San Diego, depending on the team. Engineers may contribute to Transit, Access, Identity and Provisioning; First Party Products; or the Core Wallet Experience. You will help develop software used by customers and partners around the world, collaborating across disciplines to deliver reliable, intuitive experiences. The role is suited to engineers who care deeply about product quality and are comfortable adapting to evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, and maintain user-facing software and supporting frameworks for Apple Wallet. Depending on your team, work may include transit card purchases, balances and commute plans; Express Mode and secure contactless access; hotel, home, and car keys; student IDs and digital identity documents; and the provisioning systems that enable cards to be added to Wallet. You may also contribute to financial products such as Apple Card, Apple Savings, Apple Cash, Gift Cards, Issuer Installments, or Tap to Pay.

On the Core Wallet Experience team, help build the Wallet app and the frameworks that support coupons, memberships, event tickets, and boarding passes across Apple platforms. Partner with designers, product managers, quality engineers, and other software teams to shape requirements and deliver polished features. Review code, investigate issues, improve performance and reliability, and consider privacy, security, accessibility, and maintainability throughout development. Communicate progress and technical decisions clearly while balancing quality with project timelines.

Qualifications

Applicants should have two to five years of strong programming experience, preferably using Swift and/or Objective-C, along with two to five years of user-interface programming experience. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are important, as is close attention to detail and a strong commitment to product quality. You should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage changing project priorities.

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience, familiarity with software architecture, performance optimization, and memory management across operating-system layers, and experience developing for iOS, macOS, and/or watchOS. Experience incorporating AI tools into software development is also valued.

Benefits

Apple offers a competitive compensation package, with base pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. Eligible employees may participate in discretionary restricted stock unit awards and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, discounted Apple products, free services, and reimbursement for certain job-related educational expenses, including tuition. Depending on eligibility and the position, discretionary bonuses, commission payments, or relocation assistance may also be available. Compensation, stock, and benefits are subject to applicable program terms and eligibility requirements.

Equal Opportunity

Apple is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusion and diversity. All qualified applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Apple values accessibility and welcomes applicants with diverse perspectives and experiences. Reasonable accommodations are available during the application process.
